Harvesting My Olives

I whacked half of my 42 trees with a chestnut stick, I combed some branches with a plastic fork nailed to the end of a stick, and I spent hours on the nets spread around the trees, picking through the good and the bad olives. 18 days. These trees are on the lower terraces, where the horrific fire of October 15th torched them. Their olives were carbonized and wizened. Maybe next year. . .
