"March for Love" (4th of 4 screenplay acts)



For Freedoms (Hank Williams and Emily Shur in collaboration with Eric Gottesman and the Wyatt Gallery), 2018. A reimagining of Norman Rockwell's 1943 Freedom From Want

 

She is nearly 40 and single. He is 23. She is keeping him a secret.


Yvonne, an older black woman looking for love, interviewed Alex at a march for a more diverse university faculty on assignment for a San Francisco newspaper.


After they begin dating, the school is bombed, and she worries that he may have done it.

 

Alex grew up in Senegal with his Peace Corps’ parents. Yvonne’s parents immigrated from Belize. The two share a passion for social justice.
