Portugal's Solar Eclipse: Comfort in Certainty

The solar eclipse in Portugal was a certainty.
Its beginning and end were beyond cancellation or rescheduling as well as outside the scope of any person's wont.
There was comfort in its certainty in this world of so many uncertainties.
On August 12, 2026, there were two hours of time -- from about 18:33 to 20:33 -- untethered from the vicissitudes of fires, wars and earthquakes.
Two eerie hours, they were, when day turned to shadow and became day again, just before sunset.
